How loud were we last night?

I only watched it on the telly, but it was great to see the whole stadium respond to 'Stand up if you love Boro' like a Mexican wave ripling around the stands.

It seems night matches under the lights at the Riverside brings out the best for atmospheres. The last time I can remember an atmosphere like that was in 1998 v Liverpool in the League Cup semi - final. Definitely better than the Brighton last game of the season.

Something really special when everyone gets behind the team like we did last night, makes you realise just how massive football is in this part of the world.
Can’t think of many clubs that could match the passion on and off the pitch last night, this is such a special club.

There was a Chelsea fan on talk sport who said exactly that last night, that he was was really envious of our atmosphere. The gobsh*te cockney presenter tried to belittle it by saying "yeah but it's their cup final", but the Chelsea fan who actually seemed pretty sound stuck to his guns.
I just feel sorry for him… imagine supporting a club where you don’t feel excitement from playing a Semi Final in a major cup tournament… at that point you got to start questioning, what’s the point in watching football? why am I on talk sport? What makes me happy?

That's proper tickled me.

If I had taken two days off work and spent hundreds of pounds on getting to the match from London to watch that as a Chelsea supporter, I would be bitterly disappointed at the poor effort from my own fans.

They were pathetic.

I was asking myself "why am I listening to Talk sport?". I lasted about 5 minutes before listening to music instead.🙄

Special things happen at the Riverside, I know every club probably believes the same thing but I think our record since we moved there speaks for itself. Can't be many teams outside of the top 6 that have been as good as us in big nights like that under the lights. I actually think Coventry is the first big game under the lights at the Riverside where we just haven't turned up at all.

I went to the Newcastle Southampton cup semi at St James Park last year and it just wasn't the same, you could feel the nerves, they were dying to bottle it but Southampton were terrible. In the last 10-15 minutes when Southampton actually had a bit of a go Newcastle fans were completely silent, they don't know how to act in those moments. Compare that to Tuesday night in the last 15 minutes, even when Chelsea were on the attack the Riverside was bouncing.

It's like a mini Anfield for me, things happen at the Riverside that aren't supposed to happen and it's because of our fans, when they're up for it there aren't many better.

My Mrs could hear it from our house in Grove Hill. She's heard me singing and humming songs around the house all the time and said she could faintly work out the tune, that's impressive. She's said before she heard concerts there but to her memory that's the first time she could hear the football.

Have a listen to radio 5 live coverage if you haven't already. Over the last few minutes there are times when you can barely hear the commentary team for the noise of the crowd. It's goose bumps kind of stuff.

From my seat in the north stand I could hear noise coming from every stand - brilliant stuff from the fans.

Just listened to some parts there. The goal is brilliant, they're talking ***** and all of a sudden oh there's a goal and you can barely hear them talking, can tell they're having to shout to be heard.
1.50 added time starts, crowd just comes alive - even if they do spend a minute talking about fans leaving early.
1.55 onwards, we are deafening... Any neutral listening to that, can hear every word.
1.57 going on about it being rocking, talking about alli brownlee was a nice touch.
