How confident are you of us beating Preston

Preston are unlikely to be on the beach - to me its a 50% chance of a Boro win and around a 30% chance of us making the play offs.

Despite being one a few miles down the road. They won at Barnsley last week but can’t read much into that. Barnsley are utterly devastated.

To calm any nerves that we will win this one let me give you this. This is the league table of home wins this season. Now count up from the bottom and toll up how we did at these clubs starting at Barnsley. Lost then Peterborough won then Reading lost Cardiff won and so on. You get to Preston and its a resounding WIN.

The stats never lie. You can't beat a scientific approach.

Well this is clever

I don't think we're good enough for the Premiership at the moment. I would rather we tried to go up convincingly next season.

That's my "I won't be too disappointed if we fail" way of thinking.

Feeling confident we will win, that's all we can do, frustrating that the Hull game may cost us dearly but a good season and we are still well and truly in the mix.
For once let's have an UNTYPICAL Boro weekend, it must be due.
C'mon Boro

7/10. I expect us to do it, but I accept there's a fighting chance we won't.

Can't expect Reading and Fulham to be on the beach and not apply the same to Preston. Either they all are, or they all aren't.

I don't really believe any of them will take it easy, but when the 50/50 tackles come around, i think there's a subconscious level on which it will mean more to the teams with something to play for.

If we win and miss out, I won't mind.
If we fail to win, even if it wouldn't have made a difference, I'll be disappointed.

Surely that’s the same for all clubs in the championship?!? That’s why they are in the championship.

If you go up, you go up! Do you think that Bournemouth went up convincingly?

I'm virtually NEVER confident with Boro.

The only time I let my guard slip is if we're 3-0 up in the 94th minute. Even I think we're going to win from there!

If it makes you feel better beating Preston would not be ‘typical boro’

Getting through the playoffs by beating Nottingham Forest convincingly.. and then getting beaten by Huddersfield in the final. THAT WOULD BE!!!

If you could guarantee us swashbuckling our way to the title next season, I'd probably take it. However, for all we know, our next shot at promotion might be 10 years down the line.

I'm not sure what you want to be convinced of when you say "go up convincingly" though. Are you convinced Fulham or Bournemouth are good enough for the PL? Assuming Fulham win at Sheffield United (here's hoping), they'll have 4 points less than Norwich did last year. If they lose, they'll have fewer points than Watford did in second.

I am convinced they're too good for this division, fair enough, but there's a gap between that and being convinced they're good enough for the PL
