House re-wire

Just wondered if anyone had a contact for a reliable electrician for a house rewire please. Looking to get a few quotes & the board has always been helpful in the past with other hints & tips. Many thanks in advance.

What is the reason for wanting a full rewire?

Can you not just get a new consumer unit if needed, add / move sockets where you want them etc

How old does your house have to be to need rewiring?
Tbf when we bought our house the September before last it needed a full re-wire as it belonged to an elderly couple who had both died and it hadn't been rewired since the 60s when it was built.

The lightbulb fittings were bakelite which told us everything we needed to know!

Anyway we used M C Electrics in Redcar as he'd done a few smaller jobs at our old house. Decently priced and very reliable.

My parents have house in Redcar that badly needs a rewire but they keep putting it off.

I've had to replace a couple of runs in the lighting circuit upstairs as the lights keep going to crap and a few of the switches I've had to cut back a bit as the ends have broken down as well. There's no RCD's and every circuit is on fuse Wire.

Other than that, it's fine
