Houchen in Doha

I used to work for Qatar Foundation. In an industrial heartland, why would a government backed education initiative want to invest. Where is the crossover?

He's a bit of a cad, is he not?
He s like the Boris Johnson of the North.
Lives in an alternative reality with the likes of Preston.

May 4 be with you. Big clear out. All to play for. Do your bit and get the unsuitable chaps out.

If you sit out voting, you are keeping them in office.

I tried to ask Mr Houchen on Twitter to respond to the issues raised about him in Private Eye - he subsequently blocked me - I should feel proud but it’s just another case of leaders not being open to challenge or accountability

FE and HE? I'm no fan of Houchen but I can see scope for education-related initiatives, particularly in oil, gas, and petrochemicals.

True, but QF is a wrapper for institutions such as Georgetown University and such like. It was never an investment vehicle, thats why I find this odd. If GU had invested directly, it would have made more sense.

The man is scum, I know a lad who had the misfortune of working for him and spent the majority of his time covering up his affair.

I suspect most people don't read Private Eye and with the Gazette seemingly not taking up the cudgels with this massive stink of corruption with the Freeport then not enough are aware of what is going on.
The gazette is now off my reading list, it’s failed it’s traditional stakeholders, the people of Teesside. It’s no longer fit for purpose
