Hotel for Birmingham away?

Any recommendations for a hotel in Birmingham? Preferably a walk or short taxi ride to the ground and a car park.

ibis budget. great colmore st cheap as chips stopped there several times, basic but does the job
ideal for new st, chinatown, ground about 10 mins in taxi or half hour walk
 
I've stayed at the premier inn in west brom several times. Easy to drive to, safe underground free car park, dead cheap, short tram ride to city centre.

edit - I think my info is now out of date! it was in the high street, but appears to have gone, possibly replaced by a newer one with none of the benefits above - bollox

Are you sure it wasn't West Brom Travelodge as that has all the things you mention.
 
no, was a prem inn, in the plaza building on the high street. it closed in 2021 apparently. doesn't time fly when u get older....
