Hose Pipe Bans In London

Absolutely BIDevon. We don’t need to use expensive treated water to wash cars, it’s nuts. Rainwater in a bucket from a water butt will do the job, with a bit of detergent if needed 👍
This is one of the important things as we move towards a more sustainable future. It's the little wins that, if we all do them, will make a big difference. If it's possible save rainwater for use on lawns and cleaning outside stuff. I'm a bag fan of tiny iterative changes to increase sustainability as well as the big "solar farm" "heat pumps" changes

Fine, as an outsider, please:
1) advise what is an acceptable rate of loss. I’d expect somewhere around 10%?
2) explain how the infrastructure would not have been improved by investing shareholder dividends?
Ok, maybe just point (1) as (2) is a political statement.
Thx.

Thanks Millbrook. Unless I’ve missed it, it doesn’t show percentage currently lost by each water company, only the performance against the gross figure target?

That's right. Current leakage is 7% lower than when records began in the 1990s. That's 216 million litres per day which is significant but from a high beginning perhaps. However there are enough pipes to circle the world eight and a half times which gives an idea of the scale of the problem.
