The other day I got an e-mail from AXA reminding me that my home insurance was due for renewal & that the new price would be £244, an increase of £17 on last year.
For reasons I won't go in to I want to keep the policy with AXA.
Before renewing I thought I would have a look at what it would cost if I got a quote through their website as if I was a new customer. I did this using a different e-mail address & using my tablet rather than my PC so it wouldn't just say I already had an account.
The price came up as £208 for exactly the same cover so I thought I would give them a call to see if I could get my renewal reduced. Unfortunately I got distracted by something else & never made the call.
This morning I decided to do the same again so started to get a new quote. To make sure I got the cover right I logged into my AXA account to look at the renewal document & lo and behold my renewal price had dropped to £208.
Never heard of this happening before but it's saved me the hassle of having to call them & haggle.
