Help needed please-mouse doesn't work

Help. my wireless mouse stopped working. Moving it around did nothing, the pointer did not move at all. Tried settings, changed battery, changed mouse mats, removed the USB and put it back in again. The red light at the bottom of the mouse works. Eventually I bought a new mouse and that was fine all day yesterday. Now the same has happened to the new mouse. Anybody got any ideas please.

Look for the mouse shortcut button on your keyboard. Mine is FN + F9. When my mouse stops working, i turn that off and on and it works straight away. I think its meant to be for the actual pad on my laptop, but it fixes my wireless mouse every time, and no idea why it happens
 
I've got a little button on the bottom of my mouse which changes it from Bluetooth to wireless.
Sometimes knock or touch it by accident and it goes off. Took me a while first few times to figure it out, but now I know!
