Anyone travelled through Heathrow recently? How bad is it with queues and bag drop etc? I've got it coming up with BA and it sounds carnage.
 
flew into manchester yesterday and was a complete nightmare! Swore that I was never going to fly from there again
 
Just returned home last week after booking on a 6* cruise. Airports at moment anywhere absolute nightmare. Flew from Manchester to Stockholm via Frankfurt, absolute carnage at Frankfurt, no moving walkways or internal trains working from terminal to terminal, over an hour wait in a queue to get a bus to alternative terminal, then through German Security, just made the gate as closing it. Arrived in Stockholm no suitcases for 8 passengers, they hadn’t a clue were they were 🙈 Travel home similar, second leg of flight cancelled via Frankfurt. Germans say they are proud of their organisation 🤡🤡 Customer Service desks closed, Airport lounges closed no one interested. Arrived back in Manchester over 10 hours late and suitcases finally turn up, first time I’d seen them in over a week. If you can travel light and only take hand luggage. Good luck to other who have holidays booked 🤞

What time of the day did you arrive? I got into Manchester Airport yesterday around 3pm and was straightforward and didn't take much time at all to get through. I was flying back from Munich, not sure if that has any relevance but might have been a different terminal.
 
All BA are switching back to T5 from tomorrow I think it is - except the zillion that are cancelled of course. American going the other way (I am with them Wednesday)

Thé trouble at the moment is it’s mainly to do with HAL not being able to handle the passenger numbers so they are saying you will have to cancel X amount of flights morning and afternoon, so whereas BA would cancel flights to destinations they could double up they’re literally having to just pick some. The Malaga flight was cancelled this morning and that would be rammed.

Meant to arrive at 3.30 but delayed to 4.30, then 1 hour through passport control and then another hour waiting for our bags :(
 
Flight from Budapest was 2½ hours late, meaning no chance of catching my 9.30PM connection to Newcastle. I was offered 9.30PM the next day and told them what to do with it. Stayed the night in London and caught the train instead.
 
Flying out of Heathrow to New York on Sunday 11th Sept.
BA have moved us to a later flight. Had to rebook the reserved seats which were luckily available on the new flight.
The return flight changed from landing at terminal 5 to terminal 3. I emailed the car park company to advise them as it was a pick up and drop of. Two weeks later, BA changed the landing terminal back to 5.

Fingers crossed we get no more changes but we still have 2 months to go.
 
Let's be fair - anybody who chooses to fly BA (if they have a choice) and especially from Heathrow, really can't complain when it goes t!ts up .... and that was before Covid

Your return might be an AA flight.
 
Flew to New York last week on virgin, no issues going out, bag drop fine, security all good

Waited 2 hours at jfk to get through passport control 🙄

New York clearly have sone issues with refuse collection, whole place was filthy and stunk 😬☹️

Coming back no issues, quick to get through customs and bag drop at Heathrow
