' He turned us down last year, Fu** him'

Absolutely no phrase from our supporters does my head in more than that.
It's quite a common theme when we go after a long term target who decided to try elsewhere before we go in for them again, the latest being Rodrigo Muniz.

People need to realise, he's a young lad from Brazil, who was offered the chance to play in London, with parachute payment wages, in a squad very much capable of winning promotion & a manager who spoke his language.
It was that or, Here with Warnock using his translator app and a squad that was so unbalanced it's unreal.

He probably did the right move for him, he got success, he got the London life and he got the money, He also scored 5 goals on very few minutes because he had an absolute machine in front of him.

If he's ready to come now, I say let's do it! He can make up for lost time in an attacking system and get us promotion this year instead!

Absolutely spot on. Made the obvious choice last season but was behind the leagues best striker. If welcome him with open arms, assuming that Wilder is 100% behind the move of course.

Agreed. I appreciate we're a proud club and it's not great seeing Fulham ahead of us in the pecking order, but if someone wants to come now, what's the issue?
It's a temporary blip, the majority of their history is behind us, I'm not going to fret about them right now because the natural order will prevail and we will be bottom half of prem Fulham will be bottom half of champ and brentford will be league one.

If he turned us down with a "Middlesbrough is sh*t, London is great" line, fair enough. None of that happened. It was disappointing but perfectly understandable why he chose Fulham - more money, better chance of playing in the PL and West London isn't the worse area of the country, especially coming from Brazil.
No problems from me, even if it is just a year long loan👍

It would still be a gamble. Although his game time was limited at Fulham, he didn’t really do much (and that was with an ultra attacking team). I’d prefer Armstrong or Gykores if possible. Not sure we can gamble too much if we want to be up in the automatic promotion places. I liken it to another championship club coming in for Payero. Potential but never really delivered.

He chose Fulham because they were interested, Warnock cooled our interest and admitted so himself.

I've only seen a couple of bitter posts to be honest, most of the rest seem to be cautiously happy about the prospect of him coming here!

I remember when we signed Clayton it dragged on a bit. Think he might've given the impression he wanted time to think about it or something.

There were a few then saying they didn't want him for that reason alone. "clearly doesn't want to come", "heart isn't in it", "even if he does come he'll only be here for the money" etc.

Sensitive souls some fans.

I think warnock thought he was too young. 6 months later considered it again, but Fulham showed interest and their portuguese speaking manager formed a better relationship with him, so that was the deciding factor in the end
