Have you ever ran on the pitch to celebrate a Boro goal?

Not at full time to celebrate promotion etc but when we have actually scored a goal?

I remember doing it twice, v Bradford at Valley Parade in 2001 when Karembeu scored a late equaliser, which almost certainly saved us from relegation, and Fjortofts goal at Tranmere in 1995, even though we where already promoted, but think the celebratory all day drink got the better of me 😁

4 times v Oxford 1967 promotion game. Mind I was already sat on the edge of it so I didn't have far to go. I was 9 yrs old and had been passed over the crowd with loads of other kids due to a near 40,000 crowd packing Ayresome out. Thought I was really daring running a couple of steps on the pitch every time we scored 😂😂

Great story blf . Ron Atkinson reminisced about playing for Oxford that night and it was the loudest crowd he’d ever heard .

At Peterborough 1967 with a few games to go for promotion and a must win game to keep us in with a chance. Went beserk when Dickie Rooks scored to put us 2-1 up with about 10 mins to go. I followed everyone else running on from behind the goal we'd scored in and before I knew it I was on my own in the centre circle and just as I reached Dickie he said ' keep on runnin son there's a copper behind yer'. The oppo end was Posh fans giving me the 2 fingers so I dived into the side terrace and run the gauntlet of other Posh fans to make my way back to my mates as in those days there was no segregation between sides/ends. Got a few feet from my mates with a big smile on my face when a big hairy hand of the law collared me and frogmarched me out of the ground and made sure I didn't get back in. To cap a great day me and my mate hitched a lift in a Roller all the way from Peterborough and got dropped off at Marton crossroads

I remember that Bradford Away game. I don’t recall it being that tense as Man City were losing that day anyway and wouldn’t have been able to catch us We finished 8 points off the bottom but close than it sounds. Never run on the pitch on a Boro game but I did an FA Cup tie not featuring Boro back in the 70s.

No, but a few years ago, Boro were playing Bristol (City) I think in an evening FA Cup tie at the Riverside. Boring game, but at half time, some fat bloke in a giant nappy ran onto the pitch to applause from the crowd.

If I recall, not much happened except he was escorted off, game went to penalties and we went through courtesy of Schwarzer saving the decisive one.
