Yeah I did one of them virgin flights with my dad for his 60th a while back would really recommend it is amazing. It took a while to happen though we had alot of cancelled flights due to bad weather so took like a year to get up.

Yeah, about 30 years ago when skiing in Colorado. It never crossed my mind that my fear of heights would be a problem until it was too late, and I spent the majority of the flight looking though the viewfinder of my camcorder as it felt less real. 😳

We actually crash landed in some poor person's back yard and got dragged about 100 yards down the street with the basket on its side before the chase team caught us.

For me, that was less frightening than the actual flight 😂😂😂

My wife tried to get me on one in Luxor. More chance of us winning The Premiership next season. That said her and my daughter still went and loved it.
Not my cup of tea though. It was bad enough going in a two seater sea plane on the same trip.

Bit more detail. Went on mine in June 2021. It was never rearranged due to weather but I had to wait until Covid restrictions were lifted sufficiently. Even then, we had to wear masks on board.

It was a stunning day, as it really has to be. 7am start. The silence and peacefulness up there was amazing. You don't feel the wind because you move with the wind. Watching early morning drivers and seeing trains leaving York station was surreal, almost like they were toys. The pilot was good, he kept us entertained, but I do wish he hadn't told us about the red rope near him, which he said shouldn't be pulled in the air as it would kill us all...I think it basically opened up the balloon at the top.

The landing was interesting. We had to sit at one side of the basket and hold on. The basket landed on the side which we had our backs to and it tipped over and dragged along a bit. We landed in a field near Aldwark Manor hotel, and I don't think the farmer was best pleased, but they say they always sweeten the deal with a bottle of whisky or something. Photo attached from the flight.

Same, took just over 2 years to finally get a successful flight.

3 failed attempts ... in the Lakes so quite a bit of wasted accommodation money 😂

Enjoyed it but couldnt be ar5ed to attempt another one!
