Has Twitter finally died?

My feed has been full of right wing guff and misinformation pushers that I most certainly do not follow, since Musk did his thing. And I’ve seen less and less of the stuff that the people I follow post.
It’s pretty clear that the algorithms have been adjusted to ensure anger inducing content hence arguments hence longer website engagement hence more viewing hence greater ad revenue. It was always a cess pit but now it’s different level.

I only started using an account a month or two before Musk bought it so can't really compare but don't see much really bad stuff. One thing it did feed me was K-pop and Korean male fashion models o_O

Gave it up before Musk and have no intention of 'dipping so much as a pinky' into that sh*thole

Time to walk away sadly.

It's a setting - go to 'Home' and click on the two little stars in the top-right corner. Then select 'Latest Tweets' rather than 'Content Preferences'. You'll see tweets from the people you follow again, rather than algorithm-generated guff.

You might need to check it regularly - I think it automatically switches back to 'Content Preferences' every time you log out and log back in again.

It's not a Musk thing, it was introduced months ago. Annoying, but at least it's fix-able.

I'm surprised more people don't have this option selected.

Thanks for that, hopefully that will do it 👍
I haven’t changed the settings for yonks and the content it shows me has definitely got much worse recently, so I’m pleased I can adjust that. I’m fed up of selecting ‘not interested in this tweet’ etc a dozen times a day, when it previously used to be a couple of times a month.
I guess the negative of setting it up to latest tweets, so it only shows those you follow, is that it really does become an echo chamber. Explains how so many get sucked into conspiracy theorist nonsense if they aren’t seeing all the debunking etc.
