Also agree, I might be remembering this correctly Toney was using insider information on single bets
 
15 bets against his own team - some players in the 1960s @ Sheff Wed were banned for life for betting against their own team. They were winning more than their wages though.

I can only think the small size of the bets saved him - for someone on say £12k a week - £10 is like 10p to me.
