Got mine from Reed’s in Redcar

I seem to vaguely remember the Reed's shop in Redcar, we used the shops in South Bank and later on in Eston. I use to buy my Subbuteo teams and accessories from them.

We also use to get a pair of baseball boots and a pair jeans every year for the 6 weeks holidays.

The wife just said that Reed's sponsored her brother to swim the channel, but he got pneumonia whilst training and that scuppered it.

Got the school uniform from reeds in redcar, they had heaps upstairs.

Used to love going there also, great how they always knocked a bit of the marked price, making you think you are getting a special deal even though they probably did it for everyone

Am I right in thinking they had two shops ? First was down the bottom of Linthorpe road, then they moved to Boroughr road??? Shopping there was a privilege - there was always a discount and there were the friendliest bunch. Made fatty kids like me feel quite sporty.

I got my new blazer with school badge and new tie and rugby top from Reeds in Eston. A bit scary going to big school, but also exciting. The school also was changing from secondary modern to a comprehensive just to add a feeling of foreboding. A bit like going to Millwall in the 1980s.

I used to get my Boro tops from there in the 70s, always with a bit of discount cos Jack (son) knew my dad.
