Harry Pearson - a *UK* Kindle book deal of the day

How much of that 99p does Harry Pearson get? And how much if you by a real book from a bookshop?

That statement has a lot of meanings.

No idea. Usually these deals are done with arrangement with the publisher, so I suspect the publisher is taking a hit rather than the author.

As always,.if one can afford to pay full price in a physical book shop, please do so. I am laid off until at least January so I'm not too fussy about having to pay as little money at the moment. In the past I have paid pounds for Folio Society books, so I do pay top prices for good, physical quality books. I have over 50 Folio Society books, so I have spent a small fortune on books. At the moment i can't.
I have been using the library more recently too, as I can't afford to buy books in either ebooks or hard copy form. Pearson's book is not in the online catalogue in my borough as of yet.
I'm not going to slag off ebooks either. For 2 reasons.
1. I had a house fire about 10 years ago and many books were ruined. I couldn't afford to replace all of them. If my device was ruined, all I need was a new device and get all my books back.
2. 4 years ago I found myself homeless and was sofa surfing for over one year. Obviously I could not take any books with me. The device was a godsend. I had hundreds of books with me at all times.

When I am earning a good wage again, I can go back to buying beautiful Folio society books and ebooks, like I have done in the past. Since having the device I have spent MORE on books than before. I will not feel ashamed for spending what I can afford at the moment.

My missus bought me a hardback edition shortly after it was published. It's great, like all his books are.
Tell you what though, the original Far Corner is the best book he has ever written.

I have Amazon accounts in both the US and the UK, but they won't let me use the UK for Kindle. You can borrow some books, but never new ones.

Some kindle deals pay more to the author from the small sum than the actual book.
I will put my full interview with Harry about The Farther Corner on here next week. I only had space for the first half in the last fanzine.
I found The Farther Corner fascinating and quite hilarious but also moving in places, especially when you realise the place Harry was in when he was going to the games he features in the book.

Yes thoroughly enjoyed the book especially the bit about Bernie going back to the site of The Holgate and residents reaction.😀

The Far Corner seemed to bring out a seies of authors and their recollections of Non league football, the ones I have read have been good but non have surpassed The far corner.
