Harry Chapman

Whatever else you now think of Ayala, he can be a great defender at this level.

Armstrong has started the season like a train, and Sack is still to come back.

Not a bad outside shout, but not favourites.

I’d like Mowbray to be considered for the role when Warnock inevitably leaves which is obviously in the relatively near future.

IIRC he did a relatively decent job given the budget reduction he faced during his time here.

He obviously has an eye for a player.

Mowbray is a really genuine guy but the timing was all wrong for him here.
Not sure a Manager can go back.....but you never know.
Well happy to have Neil in charge at the moment as we need someone experienced like him.
Loved the job Eddie Howe did at Bournemouth.
Bit weird because in recent times when we have changed Managers there has been nowt available really.

He’s doing well, hopefully they can sustain it and get to at least the playoffs.

As long as gibbo sticks with his frankly insane policy of not appointing managers currently in a job we will only over ever have a few to pick from.

I think budget limitations means smaller clubs (including us) have to do the best with what they have got.
For example, you can't tell me that in stronger years Fletcher wouldn't have gone out on loan rather than first team duty.
Similarly, Brerton was a multi-million gamble that Mowbray seemed to have got wrong.....but maybe he might just have been right.

What bugs me is the und=fairness of the big club budgets.
A bad buy is soon bounced out and replaced by somebody else.

Chapman will be injured any day now.

Mowbray is a legend, but I'd bet money that they're absolutely nowhere near the top 6 at the end of the season.

we have the right manager for us now. It's not often aligned up over the past 15 years, but I think it has now. We've wanted NW for some time and for good reason. He knows what he's doing, he's a decent guy and from talk on here he's wanted to manage us for a fair time too. Let's hope it all comes together

It seemed from start of season to new year we would get promoted in most of Mowbray's seasons but then from January onwards we performed like a relegation team. Not entirely sure why but some suggestions are

Limited squad quality so no injury back ups, not able to keep up high tempo game throughout full season
Fitness training not good enough so players couldn't last Full season

It seemed strange that Karanka got Mowbray's players to perform for full season but then in Premier league season we went back to solid start, then collapsed (other factors at play probably)

We were missing that bit of quality at the back under Mowbray. Ayala coming in improved us, Dimi promoted to first choice keeper helped us and Varga at right back was much needed also.

In the prem we were severely lacking, we missed Chambers massively and relied too much on Negredo. Gambles with Espinosa and Fischer did not pay off, with the recruitment in January proving to be the final nail in the coffin.
