Jacob Young has just given him a virtual rimming.
Flatly refused to bring forward the date of the inquiry.
Care home death question asking for apology answered with flummery and no apology.
Asked again about care homes did he sign off the testing policy...didn't answer just said we're now doing millions of tests.
Basic manner is yes we'll learn lessons but oh dear how sad never mind.

The Scottish MP let him off the hook by not simply asking did he say the works attributed to him by Cummings that all care home returnees would be tested. He added enough words to allow Hancock to waffle on about the Scottish response.

He won't answer the question "did he say that" because it is unsubstantiated. He could deny he said them but didn't.

The thrust of his argument is that there wasn't evidence of asymptomatic transmission. That will be crucial to the validity of his/the government's position.

I think as with all popular leaders like Johnson there will be a gradual drift away from him, it’s a tough call for people to suddenly be wrong about somebody they have put their trust in, it’s almost an admission of their own failure.

The economy is going to be the Tory’s biggest problem.
