Sol Campbell said he’s the best striker he ever played against...
He was either useless or shockingly good for me. Still remember him being unveiled at half time v someone, waving the scarf over and around his head, and thinking, I like him, he looks nuts!
Me too parmoboy, that was my first year as a season ticket holder sitting in the newly filled in north west corner.Still a hero of mine, as 98/99 was the first season I started going to games.
Ricard was immense that season.

Great workHere you go Hamilton Richard introduced v Swindon, Ironically a match we had to win by 6 clear goals to go back to the top of the league
Just what we need at the moment.Nice story, lovely memory
which chap are you.... guess not the centreI took him and Ali Brownlee on a footplate ride on a steam loco at Grosmont on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, nice bloke, great player on his day !
That's true, but I think people often forget that in his last season or two he looked even worse and couldn't get a game for the reserves right at the end.The first few games he played in it was embarrassing how bad he looked. Nothing would come off for him that first season. The ball going through his legs and missing a chance where Alun Armstrong scores last game of season sums him up that first season for me. He really came good though. I think he fooled defenders because half the time he didn't know himself what he was doing.
