I was half expecting some boos, but pleased that the team got clapped off the pitch at half time today. I think it shows how the atmosphere has changed for the better in the last 5 months.

You'd have to be daft to not see the faith we have in the system. Must be great for the players to know they've got the absolute backing of the manager to go out and really play. It's why I said on the matchday thread that we'd only make a few tweaks at halftime.

Bloke behind me was complaining that people were clapping them off. They played so poorly 1st half they didn’t deserve applause. He drives me mad, constantly whinging. Clearly doesn’t know what he’s watching.

I haven’t compiled the stats but you’d be mental to boo us off at half time given how remarkable our second half performances have been under him. Surely we’d be top of the league if it was based on second half only? Since the point Carrick came in.

Some people think that whinging when we’re flying makes them look discerning and knowledgeable. Best ignored.
Reminiscent of the old Onthemap poster on here. Don’t think the “troll” term existed back then though.
Some people actually fell for it and thought he could just see things they couldn’t.

I was pleasantly surprised by that too.
I think most of us know that promotion form doesn't mean that we'll always blow teams away, or always be entertaining.

I thought we just looked sloppy rather than bad, but was also pleased that there was no booing from people expecting a cricket score by half time.
Carrick and the coaching team do seem good at getting us to tighten up after half time. We don't have that awful old habit of doing the same fruitless thing repeatedly for 86 minutes until a pointless substitution and hoping that the opponents say "You know what lads, out of respect to your perseverance, we'll just let you score."

Intake my kids. One week they joined in some booing at half-time. I told them we don't boo. We support our team.

We weren’t on it at all in the first half, but anyone who expects us to play Champaign football every minute of every game has their head in the clouds. The fact of the matter is that even even though it wasn’t happening, we stayed resolute and went in level, and were applauded off for it, as was right and proper, and we then delivered in the second half.
Job done.
