I think that comes from the fact that the club didn't think Wilder would definitely be here.Hackney is good but he's not a replacement for Tav just yet. Let's have things right. The club chose to not re-invest the 25m received for Tav and Spence.
Steady on. Everyone's getting carried away with Hackney.
He's doing alright, in a team 1 point outside the drop zone in the 2nd tier.
He wouldn't get anywhere near the matchday squad of Sheff Utd, Norwich, etc.
If we're trying to build a team capable of getting to the Premier League, we're going to need better than Hackney. No offence to the lad at all.
He’s been quality. To write him off is a mental post. He could really be the player we need in that midfield. He was outstanding on SaturdaySteady on. Everyone's getting carried away with Hackney.

In all due respect, is it fair to say steady on back to you completely ruling out Hackney's potential before he has even played a dozen games?
That's just not true is it. You can't categorically state that's the 'only' reason he was injured. The only reason he got injured was because Wilder refused to let him train with the first team all summer and then threw him in to start the first game of the season having had less than a week of pre season training.
Coburn's ok where he is, Watmore will be available soon and there's also Muniz. Once we start to get a tune out of him we'll do ok.The money we have left from the summer sales can be invested in a couple of decent wingers and maybe a full back.Recall Coburn play him and chuba as starters, send out Hoope on loan .
And yet, in the last two games, he was the answer. He's nowhere near the answer to Boro's problems.
