Everton have signed teenage striker Youssef Chermiti from Sporting Lisbon on a four-year deal for £15m.

The 19-year-old Portuguese forward broke through at Sporting last season, scoring three league goals and making 22 appearances in all competitions.

I know there are some good teams and great players in Portugal but not sure how competitive the league is. If a 19 year old player who scored 3 goals and commands a £15m price tag, surely we should be getting that and more for Chuba.

at age 19 everton will be paying him £17,500/20k a week - big potential for a sell on profit .

Chuba is 27, 28 in October - poor potential for any sell on profit and will want £50K a week plus goals bonus' - but everton are the club he should be looking to join this season - in preference to a luton or a sheff utd, they need goals, he will get goals

Teams only pay money for potential now. If Christiano Ronaldo jizzed into a handkerchief you'd probably get premier League clubs queuing up to pay twenty million for it.

They have a fantastic manager and great recruitment. They probably only need a fraction of 35 million which I'm sure will be invested wisely.

I presume he means me but I didn't say that. I said we lost Archer and Ramsey and have to replace them but we get no funds from their return where Coventry have lost their 2 players and have £35m to replace them with. Then losing 2 good players and us losing 2 good players is not the same because they owned theirs.

It has nothing to do with the rest of the squad.

Hamer was the difference in the play-offs, I though. He's a great player. Having said that, if he is worth £15m then surely Chuba with his 29 goals is worth more than that? £20m?
Anyroad, the suggestion of buying Akpom and Archer is a great place to start. A ready made partnership.

From January 1st 2024 - Chuba can make a deal with a club and Middlesbrough FC wont get any monies for him at the end of contract circa June.

Premier League clubs - Sheffield United in this instance can only take one player on loan from another Premier League team, so they can’t sign Doyle & McAtee on loan, sign one on loan buy the other. Can’t see City selling either

Yeh but you are both missing the point. Both teams have been weakened by losing 2 players but we have to replace them from the bank of Gibson (if it's open) and they have £35m to replace their players with.
