Agree that you can't really blame him for choosing a prem club over us and all that entails.
However on a point of pedantry he was already at a Premier league club (and had been for years) when he signed for Luton, so wasn't really his only shot or a once in a lifetime opportunity!

Hull paid a lot of money for him. They will amortise that over his contract.
If they sell at a big discount and below book value that is a real hit to their P&L this year and to their P&S calculation which will already be strained given last seasons efforts.
It makes great sense to borrow him from a team and financial perspective.
If he plays like he did for us then he will be worth buying and we will be able to afford the fee which will be reduced given another year of amortisation on his Hull fee and another year off his contract tie.
It makes sense to borrow what you can't afford to buy, or what you are not sure is worth what you would have to pay to buy at that time.
This move has potential upside and no downside whatsoever.
As for loans and squad impact last time; if we play like we did post the Jan loans of 23, then I will be delighted as with Archer, Akpom, Ramsey and Giles we played the best football I've seen since the 2014-15 play off season with Bamford, Vossen, Kallas, Fredericks, Amorebietta on loan.
