Grosiki on £40k a week ( allegedly)

He is free to leave but at that wage he would need to come down substantially to make it happen. Forest are again linked to him. Oh well another popular target bites the dust!

Can't imagine Forest will offer him anywhere near 40K. Also I think we'd be a more attractive proposition than Forest at the minute, unless they are offering silly money (doubtful given they have next to 0 chance of promotion).

I doubt we’re offering anything beyond the summer based on his age , if he did well obviously he could potential earn an extension and a premier league wage with us or a championship wage .

Depends when his contact runs out, if it's the end of this season he might want to jump ship if we could offer a 2 year contract say. He's going to get more game time with us....

I always get a feeling players don’t have enough confidence in their own ability and just go for the longest contract on offer rather than one based in incentives that maybe more lucrative.

I've read that a return to Poland is possible, so its likely he'll be getting a fraction of his current terms, wherever he goes.

Cant blame them, it's a short career and just one injury away from it all being over. Look at what happened to Matthew Bates.

£40k a week for six months is £1m. Joining someone in January he'd need a 2.5 year deal at £8k a week just to break even.
I think I'd take my chances on waiting until the summer, have the money in the bank and look around for something then.

Grosicki will get the £40k per week wherever he plays/doesn't play until the end of June.
He's 33 in early June.
The question is would he be worth us contributing £15k per week to WBA until June then him switching immediately to a 2 year deal now on say £15k per week, which would make it interesting for him and value for us?

Yep, that's the sort of deal I would be looking at. He's a good player at Championship level...

It is only guaranteed if he stays at WBA.

Once all the other contracts unwind this summer, that £15k would make him one of our highest earners and, apart from Howson, the oldest as well.
Seems a lot to invest in a 33-35 year old winger.

Would like to see us combing the lower leagues for our transfers.
Surely there must be some gems out there
£40k per week pfffft, its not what we can afford anymore.

Would much rather we invested cash into the recruitment department to make things better in the longer term.

Surely we have learnt our lessons from Fletcher, Saville, Assombolonga, Roberts etc etc

If nobody else pays him the £40k, then West Brom will have to - that's the point.
He WILL get £40k per week until June; who pays it is the question and in what proportions.
