With Bournemouth busy in the cup and Barnsley facing a new look shef wed and reading hat a resurgent QPR this could be a great week to close the gap and put pressure on the chasing pack.

Especially as we then face 2 of them in short succession.

so bring on the wall

It's a game we can win, and it's a game we need to win.

Hope we put in a better performance than we did against Preston, but I'll still be happy if we win fortunately again.

We were poor in the first 20 minutes or so against Preston but once tav came on we looked terrific and bare in mind we went 1 up against 11 men. We would have gone on to win regardless of the sending off.

We seem to be hitting a more consistent level of performance. A few weeks ago we were stinking the Riverside out with awful displays.

Are we thinking Watmore or Fletcher in for Akpom???

We went 1-0 up from a total fluke against the run of play, and were lucky that Morsy didn't get himself sent off too.

We were always going to look good against 10 men when we already had the lead.

We shouldn't be going on about lucky Morsy was v Preston, the fact is we've had awful decisions go against us all season, including a double sending off rescinded & Fry's physical assault, I think we can say we were due that

I don't think that changes that he probably should have been sent off and that we weren't playing well before a huge stroke of fortune gave us the lead.

But my point was that I'd love us to get lucky for the rest of the season, I would happily have us play terrible for the last 9 matches and win them all through own goals and massive deflections.
The results are what matters now.

Fair point, not having a dig just saying we were due it

As for tomorrows games. I have had a soft spot for Barnsley ever since we played them in the cup at AP in the 70's. They gave us a hard game and we could count ourselves fortunate to beat them. But at the same time, I want Sheff Wed to suffer for their cheating. So, if Weds win, we gain 3 pts on Barnsley (if we win of course). But that helps the Owls. If Barnsley win, that makes it a bit harder for us to catch up but makes the Owls suffer. I am going cross eyed here.

You are right that Morsy should have gone too, it was a clear elbow. The OG was against the run of play, but we weren't terrible right up to the sending off. We had started to work our way into the game and I will repeat, we would have won that game against 11 men. I also take issue with looking good against 10 men, that doesn't always happen. Statistically an extra man is worth less than 1 goal per hour.

We have players coming back from injury, our form has improved from some really bad games just a few weeks ago.

We know, absoloutely we can beat any team in this league with our first 11 out. Of course we have also seen how bad we can be too.
