i didn't think that it was the back where we got dictated, it was the centre of midfield where they bossed us. Which is shocking when they went down to 10 man. What happened to our advantage?
Warnock's style of play doesn't really lend itself to making the most of an extra man.
Common wisdom dictates that when the other side goes down to ten men you then pass it around stretch the play, look for the extra man overload and tire them out. Warnock's style is all about getting the ball forward early and then getting bodies around in support. By hoofing it forwards early we are playing it towards the most densely populated area of their team the back 4 and defensive mids.
Keeping possession is the best way to try to make the most of an extra man, but we're just not a possession based side, not under Warnock.
