Government now joining with EU to procure ventilators

Yeah I did that’s why I asked if anybody had the true figures

What do the "true figures" matter? I repeat the question that you ignored, even if it was 1 extra ventilator for less than we would otherwise have paid, why would that be negative? That would be a working, life saving ventilator that we would not otherwise have had, and not a promise of 10,000 untested ventilators. Except it wouldn't be 1 ventilator, and it wouldn't be pooled money because thats not been mentioned anywhere at all so the fact you're arguing it just shows what an utter waste of time debating with you is. Thank **** for the ignore list on this place.

No it would depend on how much money we put in to how we would have been able to purchase. It is on a pro-rata basis so if we contributed 20% of the money we’d get 20% of the available supplies, it was a pooling of finance to get a better unit price rather than an actual EU directive to support countries with less funding and given the current situation an opportunity missed.

Why does it up set you that I would like to know how many ventilators we missed out on?
I like to make an option based on facts not just on how I voted in the election/referendum.

He added: “Ventilators are a regulated product so Dyson and TTP will be working with the Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory products Agency and the Government to ensure that the product and the manufacturing process is approved.”

But the prime minister’s spokesman said all manufacturers turning their efforts to making ventilators must pass tests from expert clinicians and health regulators before purchases are made.

“New orders are all dependent on machines passing regulatory tests; this is the case with Dyson,” he said.

“Their machines must meet the necessary safety and regulatory standards - if they do not, they will not be brought or rolled out to hospitals.”

It has, however, ordered 8,000 additional ventilators from elsewhere to boost the stock of 8,000 already available to the health service.

Johnson’s phone call with manufacturers last week is said to have left a number unimpressed after he joked that it could be dubbed “operation last breath”.
