As Rich Hall said, I don’t get why they test make up on animals like rabbits etc, because they’re already cute.
 
I see it is the 'safety of workers' route as opposed to the safety of the consumer. Probably amounts to the same thing in reality but is likely seen as being less emotive.
You would normally expect it to be a decision driven by and benefiting the companies. But it would still take a brave (or stupid) company to publicly take up on this.
Have any done so yet?

We are unlikely to know as all they would be doing is following the rules.

I think it would be more to do with the negative publicity rather than following rules or not. A lot of them stopped testing before it was banned anyway.

We might see the 'no testing on animals' claims on packaging start to disappear if they do.
And I'm sure activist and animal support groups would soon identify them.

Any manufacturers not employing animal testing will clearly mark that on their products. Those that are not clearly marked will loose market share, you would hope.
