Google is doing something immoral to me

Last night I was searching for some things on my mobile which is a personal phone, today I have logged on to my business laptop clicked the search box of Google and there are pre-emptive search items which are the things I was searching on my mobile last night. Nothing naughty, just a cooking recipe and something about Henry 8th, my life is so interesting!

My mobile is signed in to my personal Google account and my laptop is signed in to the corporate Google account so how and more importantly why is Google on my laptop getting information of what I searched on my mobile?

That is a bit spooky and rather concerning really.

No idea how that cross contamination occurs.

Maybe use duck duck go or something else on personal devices, see if that helps sort it?

That is a potential breach of GDPR and could be subject to a complaint.

Have you used one of your gmail addresses as the recovery email for the other? I don't know if that would cause it but just thinking how the 2 accounts might be linked.

I doubt it but even if I did, surely they cannot share data in that way.

I bet it's IP address related. Do you use a VPN on your work laptop? That would change the IP address.

It's got to be related to the internet connection I reckon. The works VPN should change the IP address. Do an IP address check and see if they are the same on both devices.

This has happened to me too. I am sure it's something to do with being logged into your private Google account

Thread drift, but, the number of times I mention something obtuse to Mrs F and in the next day or so online ads pop up when I never googled it, but only mentioned it.

I once mentioned upgarading the pickups on an old guitar I haven’t used for years and then started getting ads for Femder pickups. It can be quite spooky, it’s like they’re listening.
