Good luck to Blackburn

I get this might not be a popular view point, but I think a good morale crushing defeat to a championship play off chasing side is just what the doctor ordered.

I’d rather Sheff U won and a big Wembley day out to look forward too. Any distraction is good for us and it’s another game they will need to play. I think Blackburn may edge it though.

I get the distraction but when it gets to finals semi finals it works for not against you and it boosts morale of fans and team.

To miss out now said all that.

I wasn’t Sheffield tears 😭

Maybe but I’m not convinced. Say they win today and then they hit a couple of Dodgy results in the league and then they have to play City or United in the Semi and get a thrashing they will feel like everything’s falling down on them and extra tired legs. Defo Sheff U win for me but I do take your point 👍

I just think losing at home to a fellow championship side will remind them of their league struggles and hopefully put pressure back on heck on and off the pitch.

We don't really benefit from this game.

Even 120 gruelling minutes will be followed by an international break giving them (Sheff U) plenty of time to recover and refocus, even if the result doesn't go their way.

The distraction and extra effort (and potential heartbreak) of a semi final feels like the only way their run works in our favour.
