"Good girl, well done"

Bit of d*ck isn't he? I've heard from former players he's not that nice

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has been laballed a “dinosaur” after making a sexist comment towards a female reporter at the end of a post-match interview.

Rodgers was speaking to BBC Scotland’s Jane Lewis after Celtic’s dramatic 3-1 Scottish Premiership comeback win at Motherwell.

In his answer which began the tense exchange, Rodgers said: “To get the win was important for us, psychologically, and for our football. It was another game to convince that when we play how we can play then the goals and creativity will be there. So I’m delighted for the players because like I’ve said, there’s a story been written about this group, so we will write our own story.”

He was irked when Lewis asked him to explain what he meant by “the story has already been written”. Asked to elaborate, Rodgers responded: “No, no, you know exactly what I mean.”

When Lewis asked again, Rodgers ended the interview, saying: “Are we done? Good girl, well done.”

Was the same at Leicester, spoke to a couple of foxes fans when they were up, not a nice person

So on a thread that is condemning sexism, it's ok to take the p*ss out of someone's size?
I'm not taking the p#ss. After watching his post match interviews I just expected him to be taller than he actually is. Maybe its his demeanour, his voice or his head.
Same with Patrick Stewart, I always thought he was at least 6', until he stood next to James Corden. Mind you, I always thought he was Scottish until the Yorkshire Tea adverts.
Conversely I was surprised to learn that Karl Pilkington is 6'1".
And when Trump got elected his height surprised me.

Debatable sexist, more patronising her for me. "Good Girl" isn't sexist but perhaps the context is ?

I think you're about right.

He is obviously wound up and its meant in a patronising way, but in the current climate he should know much better.

Regardless its just unprofessional getting rattled by the media

I've just listened to the recording of what he said and I'm not sure if he's being sexist or condescending. It is something I have said to my lads over the years to let them know I am not happy with them in the context of 'Oh, good lad, well done'.

I could be wrong here and I never thought I would be defending Brendan Rodgers.

I know what you mean. If he'd said 'good lad' to a male reporter would it have mattered? Although I suppose the equivalent to 'good girl' is actually 'good boy' which is more condescending than good lad. And a bit creepy.
