Good article on Aitor, Bellingham (and Boro!)

“And then one of the best things to happen to me happened: Peter Kenyon and Steve Gibson appeared in my life. At Boro we lost the fourth or fifth game to Brighton. I wanted to die. Leaving the ground, I hear: ‘Hey, Aitor.’ It’s Steve. I think: ‘My first coaching job and here it comes already.’ He says: ‘How are you?’ ‘***ed off.’ ‘Why?’ ‘Because now you have to sack me.’ ‘I have to do what?!’ He takes my arm: ‘Look, the team was down here, now it’s up here, and you’re taking us to the Premier League. He takes me to dinner with his family. We become family. That era was lovely, paradise.”

Shame it didn’t touch on the Charlton game and why he was actually sacked.

As poor as we were in the PL season I still can’t see any logical reason to sack him and leave us with Agnew ffs.

The Charlton game and the Premier League season are just footnotes for me.
I love the man, he gave us a great team and we had a wonderful few years. I understand his frustrations in that January window to.
I'm not one of those that calls for him to come back every time it goes wrong BUT he'll never enjoy a relationship and success like he did here.
I wish him all the very best in anything he does

The play off season and the season and we went up it really felt like there was a togetherness with the fans and players. After years of getting nowhere it seemed like we were finally going somewhere. The way it ended was bad but for a period it was fantastic.

I would have him as head coach at UD Almería any time he wanted it.

As mentioned on the other thread. I feel he might be more suited to a head coach role rather than a manager.

Before @Malaguena says it, we might need someone to take from the second tier to the first again next season.
