Goalkeeper

Gazette saying we are in for a goalie, I did suspect we would be after a no 1.

I would like Joe Hart, think if Warnock tells him he’s his no 1 he could get a tune out of him. Obviously only if Hart is willing to be paid what we pay and not over the odds. He would be a great signing in my opinion. Hart is a great communicator aswell which is clearly important for Warnock.

If not him, then maybe someone like Etheridge who Warnock has worked with before and has lost his place at Cardiff but still a top keeper.

Not a fan of Hart. I think he has too many ricks in him and his confidence looked shot last I saw him. I have noticed Spurs are releasing Michel Vorm though. I know he is 36, but he is a decent keeper thats on a free. He may want to much £££ but he is worth a call for me. Experience in goal is needed. Etheridge is decent though

I agree but I think surely at Championship level and to be told he will be no 1 if he performs could really give him the confidence he needs. Would be very happy with Vorm too. Top keeper and would do a job for a year or 2

Hart would still likely demand big money and will probably get that in America. Dont think his ego will allow him to drop to our level

I know what you’re saying, but personally, I don’t think it works the same for goalkeepers as it might for outfield players when dropping a level. Confidence is a key thing for me with a keeper. When he was at City and West Ham, I always thought the defenders were never sure and trusted him and he often would start to come for a ball and not see it through or mistime his attempts to catch or punch, thereby causing confusion. I am shocked to see he has 75 England caps tbh. All about opinions mind, but a confident experienced keeper is a must for me

Thought he was great at city and then good at Torino but since then been poor. Defo needs a challenge and a manager who believes in him. I actually think a championship move with a manager who has confidence in him is exactly what he needs right now. But it’s all about opinions (y)

We definitely need a solid keeper. Jury is still out on Stojanovic, and Pears doesn't fill me with great confidence.

We were very fortunate to have Randolph looking back. He was far too good for this division.

Totally agree. Dejan the better out of the 2 but I think even he would benefit off learning from a top pro.

As Dimi demonstrated calm and confident is all you really need at this level. A good communicator who does the basics right. Anything else is a bonus.

Randolph is a bog standard premier league keeper. Looked a class apart in the championship.

It was an extremely big jump for Pears last season to go from National League to the Championship and he is still very young I thought he did fine bit if we are looking for top 6 spot I agree a keeper is an area to improve, Dejan was OK, but like Pears not commanding with crosses and nothing special at Championship level. Randolph was the right standard. I always think get a very good quality keeper as they aren't as expensive as attacking players, but stopping a goal is an important as scoring one.
