Gibson

We are a small town club that did well to spend a lot of time in the PL. We won a cup and went to a European final.
Our position in the EFL is about where we should be, up and down the league and maybe a promotion.
Everything good that has happened to this club in the last 35 yrs has happened because of Steve Gibson.
He helped us compete financially but these days one deal in the PL can be more than his total worth.
There is no list of billionaires lining up to take us over.
Speaking as a supporter that went through the Amer years I'm horrified that people think we would be better off without Gibson.

Baby and bathwater come to mind.
We`ve chucked both out before and we end up starting all over.

It's a good job he'll live forever and keep propping us up with with £3million - £16million every season depending on circumstances then.

There are clubs smaller than us with outside investors.

How did we exist before Gibbo? Oh yeah we did. We also played in the top division % wise than we have under him.

Football has changed a lot over the last 30 years - and not for the better.
Local haulier vs Petrostate is a non-contest.
Even 'plucky' Bournemouth are backed with dirty Russian funds.

The debt is symptomatic of the modern game. Completely unsustainable. And absolutely not Gibsons fault.
You obviously haven't a financial clue.
Other clubs simply don't have anything like our debt, or our negative nett shareholder value as a result of it.
Burnley, Bristol City, Norwich, West Brom, Swansea, Sheff Utd, Preston and Luton all have positive shareholder value.
Only 2 Championship clubs are in the sort of negative clart that Gibson has got us to.
Gibson has made EVERY big decision at the club since 1993.
The only time he has listened was to Kenyon and then decided he didn't need him any more...that turned out well.
