Our problems, which were the reason we were dreadful at the start of the season also, are not down to individuals, more a collective failing when out of possession.

The 3 that play behind ELL, press NOWHERE near intense enough, or in the right areas, or cover the right spaces, meaning teams that play out like Ipswich, leeds, etc can pay through our press, which then exposes the midfield two.

When that midfield two is Howson and Barlaser, as it has been in recent games, they are nowhere near quick enough to cover the ground to press the man, or close the space, thus giving the opposition overloads in dangerous areas, or free shots at goal. Jones, Hackney and Coburn (for his intelligent pressing) can't come back into the team quick enough for me.

I wouldnt mind seeing both engel and bangura play one as wide left the other as left back it certainly should solidfy that wing. Right back is where we are desperately short. Somone raised the drop in results without coburn in the side it must be equally stark without tommy smith. For me dijksteel has had more than enough opportunities and cant cut it. Right back has to be a top priority in the January window

Engel was arguably man of the match for us on Saturday. We have much biggers issues to resolve at the minute, as others have said. For the second half of the season we need a new right back, centre back, centre mid and a striker, not to mention getting Hackney, McGree, Forss and O'Brien back asap.

Barlaser just doesn't read the game well when we are out of possession. He's not aggressive enough to hit tackles. Reminds me of Gary O'Neil. Just chasing around not getting near it.
