But they will have made their money......and connections .......so will no doubt go onto bigger money making scams, sorry I mean schemes .....

The MP job will have simply become a terrible chore, getting in the way of their business interests. £85k pa + expenses? Pfffffftttt.

And they will be glad to get rid of those insufferable constituents - moan, moan, bloody moan.

There’s was an interesting article, which I can find again, that lots of them think Sunak is going take a hammering, but that will lead in opposition to an even more right wing party.
Badenoch’s name being mentioned as leader.

Have they changed their method of electing a leader since truss? Even if not I suspect they will arrange for no looneys on the ballot.
Either sunak will stay in or they'll try to usurp the centre from labour. Should labour win the next election which is not a given. And whoever wins the next election will inherit a poisoned chalice after they bumped the public service cuts to the next parliament.

They almost seem like a football club that's looking at relegation and is preparing for a season in the championship.

Its not a given but anything other than a labour victory is now very long odds indeed, and if there is a landslide the remaining Tory MP's are likely to be from the swivel eyed loon side of the party, as per the article in iNews

Good read that. It is reassuring that the Tories themselves know they are finished and that if they elect a 'loon' as leader they will be in opposition for a decade.
