Why the obsession with trying to find jobs for ex-players?

What skills has he shown that he'd be suitable for a recruitment role given the current structure, other than he's a "clever guy", in which case we should get Stephen Fry in as well.
Spot on. Always thought Judi Dench might have something to offer

I like the fact we give ex players a chance after their careers of playing are over. George is an adopted teessider and a bloody good player and leader he’d be welcomed with open arms!

Nothing wrong with giving people options especially in coaching, if they have the right aptitude for it and this seems like a good role for him. The debate is more around giving them jobs that don't fit, eg it was suggested he works in recruitment. Based on what? Bizarre choice.

Maybe we could have poggy come back and head up the data analytics team.

Another ex-player with a wand of a left foot has returned to the club recently to work with the academy.

Ah data analysis - maybe that would be linked to Pogatetz as a reviewer of heavy metal for a German music magazine. He did that when at Middlesbrough. Maybe, too tenuous.
