A Geordie supporter on BBC Breakfast this morning delighted because Ashley has departed his club. He likened the Geordies new potential to teams like Manchester City, United and Chelsea also with billionaire owners. Cast your mind back to when Ashley took over, giving it large about having a billionaire owner and we had lowly Steve Gibson. What could possibly go wrong?

Well they won't be short of cash to try it. At the end of the day though, their association with the disgusting, backwards regime that the new pot of cash flows from will taint any success they do manage to accumulate in my eyes.

Good, so in the future when Boro are trying to sign international players to help us improve and they say…. “Never heard of them”…we can say….”Just down the road from Newcastle we’re the worlds best players are”……ans they say…..”Where do I sign”!!

World cup 2022 is also tainted with all the corruption and ridiculousness of playing football in the desert.

and unlike them Boro have won a major trophy in recent times. and been to a major European final. Its going to take them a long time to emulate that. First priority for them will be to get out of the Championship.

Newcastle is a beautiful city and I love Geordies ( but I couldn't eat a whole one) and they deserve a good owner ( tongue firmly in cheek) but their grandiosity hits delusional levels beyond equal. They don't have a divine right to be world beaters. No team does. We may be the little club down the road to them, and one they always denigrate ( mostly through envy but they would never admit that of course) but the last thirty years they have been eclipsed by our cup successes and that must really hurt. UTB.

Just think what the punishment will be for the players if they lose a match!
Not just losing a match. What about scoring an own goal or missing a penalty? Dragged into the centre of the changing room and having your foot chopped off in front of your team mates as a warning to them.
