Genuine question for EV owners

Have you seen the Cross Tourismo version yet? I had one for a day, it was incredible. Get mine end of May :) Still not finalised the spec/ colour, but thinking Grey or white. Had the Carmine Red 718, which looked awesome, but don't think it would suit the Taycan.

I bet the Spyder is unreal!

Not heard any news about EV Boxster or 911, think I'd wait until the newer battery came out for those, due to the weight saving, but Porsche won't mess it up, so when they come out they will be great I think.

I'm not much of a traditionalist, so would always chose performance.
I so badly want the Cross tourismo. Pretty much everything I want in a car.

I wish I'd worked harder to be able to afford one!

They're going to be very cost effective, with holding the value so well.

There's zero CT's on Autotrader, and Porsche only have 5 second hand, in the whole UK. The cheapest is a 4, which starts at 81k, but has bout 7k worth of options and it's going for 108k, 20k over list, the rest are north of 120k.

The problem with them (or any expensive car) is the finance, as this will kill some of the savings over ICE, but the finance charge on like 70k, is only like ~8k, over 3 years. It's not great, but if the car isn't losing money it's fine.

Even the cheapest "normal" Taycan second hand is 88k, for a year or two old and 10k miles, and they start at 72k list for a new one.

I'd be surprised if mine lost money over two years (when I'll probs swap for the Macan EV), but have allowed for it nonetheless. Either way, with it going through a company I can't really see how I can lose.

Don't work harder, work smarter

There's a whole range of new colours on the Taycan, which is a change for Porsche because they tend to be quite restrictive/traditional where colours are concerned. There's a light metallic blue one in Porsche Teesside that caught my eye.

The 911 is going to remain ICE according to Porsche and they've just developed a synthetic fuel which is compatible with petrol engines, so that's interesting.

The Spyder is a cracking car, but especially the soundtrack. Nothing sounds like a screaming flat 6!

I saw the neptune blue on on a youtube video and it looked unreal, but they had one in the showroom and it looked a little dull to me, a bit like a pastel colour and I thought it was going to be more like that BWM bright blue you see.

The carmine red doesn't really look like how the website shows it either, it's much brighter.

I think the grey I like is called "crayon", but going to have a closer look this week, when I finalise my spec.

I like the white, but always complain when I have a white car, same as I do with black  They're both a b***r to keep clean and look bad when dirty. You get away with it more when they're red, blue, grey, silver etc.

I like the frozen blue and mamba green, but I'd probably go for the Gentian blue - it's very deep and looks fantastic under sunlight.

If you go for white it's hard to tell the difference between the standard white and Carrera white, I've got the latter and it's a very subtle difference.

Don't get Crayon, everyone gets Crayon 😂

I like the frozen blue, and the mamba green, but don't think I've got the balls for either.

I wouldn't pay extra for different versions of "white", but I can tell the difference.

Don't say that about Crayon, I didn't realise it was so common  Might look at the ice grey too, but could consider the Gentian if it looks lighter in real life.

The frozen berry, cherry, mahogany and coffee/ beige are all hideous I think.

It's a Porsche. You pay extra for everything. I'm surprised they don't have tyres as a cost option.

That's what put me off getting a Macan before I went EV. I could easily afford it, then when I added what i wanted, I couldn't easily afford it!

Don't get me wrong, I love the options and I love Porsche but When I bought my last car my options were: Do you want White, or a limited range of colours, and do you want to pay £6000 for something you'll never be able to use?

And that was it! Completely opposite experience.

Yeah, the Porsche options can get really silly mind, on most models. I bet there's a decent residual % on not being tempted on loads of options and keeping something as a base spec. Options rarely hold much value overall. 3-5k upgrades on a set of wheels, over what the standard wheel costs, so they must be saying the wheels are 5-7k, mental.

The Taycan's not so bad though, and get the bigger battery as standard on the cross.

Yeah the base spec of the corss tourismo seems really high. Such a good car.

Yes, I think some of them are a bit dubious to say the least, especially frozen Berry, which is just pink regardless of what anyone says 😬
