General Election Petition

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if any of these government petitions has ever had the desired outcome ?

IME it's usually always a boiler plate response or a meaningless 'debate' in committee room.

(I Still sign them though)

I don't know, but it does make the MP's debate it in parliament and if there are a few million signatories, it's a bloody nose for the government.
 
What’s the reason for the petition? Is it because 5 years is too long between GE’s or just the fact they want the Tories out ASAP?

Or the fact that it's a foundering government, every bi-election has been a massive swing to the left and we have had two pm's with no endorsement from the electorate?

Public opinion is that the current lot need to be out, it's not right that the Tory's are clinging on to steal more public assets and make the job of balancing the economy even harder for the new government.

It's more to do with the tories just not governing at all. There is n o significant investment going on and no legislation beyond rwanda
 
I have heavy indications that the election will be on Thursday 14th November 2024 or 3rd May 2024. 80 percent likely the 14th November 2024….
 
The police and crime commissioners elections are due on 3rd May 2023 so the common sense approach would be on that day, but the tories are on track to be out of power for a decade….
 
I think he will hold off the general election, but get dicked in the locals in may...then get kicked out and we get 6 months of braverman or Patel or mordant before an election in January 25
