Thinking about booking to go here in a couple of weeks for 3-4 days,
anyone been, and recommend it?
or anywhere else recommended for a short break?
 
I lived near Gdańsk used to go quite often to watch the Gdańsk footy team, great stadium and cheap VIP tickets, about £30 for silver VIP food and drink all included.
Gdańsk city is great lots of bars / restaurants. Didn’t do any site seeing stuff as was only there for a night every time I went.
Be wary of strip clubs, a colleague of mine got done for £11k.

Cheers, I’m going with the mrs, but I’ll warn her about the strip clubs 😏😏
 
Had my stag do in Sopot. Great little town. Went to Gdańsk a few times and the WW2 museum is worth a visit. Loads of nice bars and restaurants.

How did he get done
 
Paid for drinks on his card, was p!ssed up and kept paying for drinks, didn’t look at the amount on the machine, when he finally got out of the club he got a text off his bank about the transactions and replied no but his bank still allowed them to go through. After months of arguing with his bank and getting nowhere he went to the financial ombudsman and they are now fighting on his behalf, think because he admitted that the first transaction he made was right they didn’t believe him about the others.
 
Stunning city. Very cheap. You can get some lovely apartments through Airbnb. Take a boat trip down to weaterplatte. It’s a sobering walk around the site. Where the first WWII shots were fired.
You can also get a bus to Stutoff which is a small death camp similar to Aushwitz. It’s feee to visit, the bus journey is about 80 minutes but we’ll worth the effort.
