Gazette and Lee Duffy

I noticed the Gazette were promoting a documentary (well, if you call a documentary, a load of blokes just talking to the camera!!) about Lee Duffy? Anyone interested in watching it when it appears?

Shocking how the Gazette continue to promote tripe like this.

it obviously generates clicks from sad sacks so no doubt we will get more articles.

I was going to post something yesterday about this and thought 'why give them the notoriety they crave.'

Someone I knew got into debt with Duffy and chose to drink Paraquat rather than face him. Ironically, Duffy ended up being buried a couple of graves away from him.

Yes, I did think that. I guess people may want to view it for different reasons. From the clip I saw, and it was only a clip, it just didn't look interesting. Just a load of blokes with broad accents (subtitles for outsiders!!) talking to he camera. Amazed that Amazon are releasing this!

It amazes me why anyone would want to glorify the actions of low life criminals and petty bullies, choosing that path in life is neither heroic or brave, in fact quite the opposite.

Where are the documentaries on people who have devoted their lives to helping those that people like Duffy have harmed ?

Yes indeed
Taking the path of being a bully (surrounded by henchmen) is just a pitiful form of cowardice.

Apparently Duffy was bullied as a child, according to the documentary (according to the Gazette). I guess we're supposed to feel sorry for him.

We've all heard the stories - You wouldn't want to get on his wrong side that's for sure.

My dad got into an argument with his girlfriend, and called her ugly. She was a neighbour too. He came round late at night and smashed windows. My dad ran away and was hurt(not by Duffy). Police were called and I had never seen so many police in my life. Dozens. Anyway, I'm unsure if my dad pressed charges but I do know that Duffy had to pay for the damage to our windows.
We soon moved from Teesside to London, so family never saw him again. We heard of him again when he was killed.

Scary!

I think your Dad was pretty lucky there to be honest Birkbeck!! Chilling story!

We never knew what he was at the time. Obviously the police did hence the numbers searching for a weapon (my dad was injured and I recall the cops asking him if his injury was caused by Duffy, whose named we didn't know at the time!)
It was only until he died we realised and yes, my dad was lucky. Luck of the Irish!

I must say his girlfriend's family were dodgy but we didn't think at the level of Duffy and co.

SO lucky! Makes the glorifying of him all the more distasteful.
