The National League is extremely disappointed to announce that following a decision of the EFL, Gateshead Football Club has failed to meet the entry criteria for membership to the EFL.

What a mess, got to feel incredibly sorry for the fans who’ve devoted time and money all season.

It is the council who are at fault and not the EFL. You have to feel for the club and fans.

Stupid rules do t allow for a replacement in Aldershot.

I don't think Aldershot would have had a chance of replacing them as they all agreed to the rules at the start of the season which stated that if a clubs facilities were not up to EFL standard they wouldn't be able to partake in the playoffs and NO club would be replacing them as a result.
