I always thought the way he behaved at Real Madrid at the end was petty. Not saying Zidane was faultless but let’s face it the two are incomparable and Bale should have respected him.
Bale was a great player for 6-7 years but I don’t think he’ll go down as the legend some are making out anywhere outside Wales or Spurs, and certainly not in Spain. 3 good years in the PL with Spurs, won nowt, doesn’t get anywhere near my best PL XI personally.

Bale was self inflicted mainly, he could have had a good 4/5 years playing at the top level that he lost due to his poor attitude

he's no Ravel Morrison obviously, but he's had a fairly decent career you'd say. Bit better than "a wasted one" anyway

He got in PL TOTY 3 years back to back before going to Real.
He got in UEFA Team of the Year in his final year at Spurs before joining Real.
He won FA Players' Player of the year and PFA Young Player of the year, the year before going to Real. Also won PFA Players' Player of the year in 2010/11 too.
He won Premier League player of the season the year before going to Real.
Just 3 'good' years you say?

That seems a really daft comparison.
Clough effectively had his playing career ended at 27 because of an awful injury.
He was a brilliant goalscorer and spent it in the second tier, only playing 3 games in the top flight right before his retirement.
Of course it was wasted.
He'd probably have said it was himself, he certainly wanted to have done more.

Well more assists than Beckham isn’t really relevant, I’ve not said he isn’t as good as Beckham.
As for Ronaldo (the original I presume) and Zidane, my personal opinion is that he’s not in their league despite what the stats might say.
