Gaming PC's....

IF you can afford it. I have a series x and love being on the sofa with a controller, but PC gaming is always better. GTA5 with mouse/keyboard is way better than a controller... if you can afford it. My PC is worth several thousand (collected stuff over the years and swapped stuff etc).
I'm sure you can use a mouse and keyboard with plenty of xbox games too now, I dont do it but sure I read the same somewhere.

Basically you can tell if it's a gaming pc if the keyboard has flashy lights on it.

PCs are **** because you need a fair amount of knowledge of computers to get the best out of them. For non tech minded consoles are the best.

I was in early on the 4k gaming pcs, used to upgrade the gpu every year all the way upto think a 1080-ti, then the xbox one x's come out and the 4k graphics were good enough for me to sell my gaming pc off before the parts dropped in value, have xbox series x now and even better but I used to just get more enjoyment out the pc seeing how it handled games more than playing them lol, but find once your playing alot of the extra things which impress you when you first see them tend to merge into the whole experience when your playing and dont matter as much as they do when your not playing and viewing whats on show.

series x looks great at 4k for me tho and more than good enough,
but always fun making computers and building them up and seeing that the eat up the game at full settings lol, costs alot tho haha so was glad to get a cheaper easier option in the long run
Series S/X are great bits of kit if you just want to game.

A PC is more versatile if you want to do other stuff, but it can be a serious expense. On the flip side the games tend to be significantly cheaper, or 'free' if you know where to look ;)

yeah man, good enough to play some FSP games
that games amazing for what they did with just 16k ram before games like that were even popular (which was a good 10+ more years before pc started to get their head around it)
I remember when that came out, I had it on my ZX81. Mind blowing at the time for an 11 year old in 1981. That started my love of computing/tech/gadgets.

Yeah the new consoles are great value for money. To be honest I'm not too fussed on the graphics it's more the fps for me because I play competitive shooters, I couldn't cope with them on console at 60fps or 120fps whatever you get now.

If you never get something because it takes a bit of knowledge to learn you will never get anywhere. Tons of places to get support with this sort of thing and guides on youtube to building from scratch

sites like PCPartpicker make it practically impossible to get incompatible goods and communities like reddit.com/r/buildapc will support with recommended specs, tech questions etc.

PC's are far from *****. I've got all the next gen consoles and I hardly play them unless it's an exclusive like Horizon or God of War, and when they come out on PC I enjoy them more because they perform better. They're also more versatile - good luck doing your homework or applying for jobs on an xbox. They're good value for money in an all-in-one solution but then the savings are eaten up in expensive games as most games can be had for less on PC and digital sales are better. However, if he has asked for a gaming PC, chances are he knows what an xbox and PS4/5 is but either already has one or doesn't wan't one.

Mate it's just a flippant comment! If you're tech savvy and have lots of money get a pc. If you're not tech savvy and don't have loads of money get a console. Different strokes for different folks and all that. I've got a "gaming" laptop. I prefer to get games on my console because of the ease of use. I don't want to have to do "a bit of learning" if I just want to veg out and play. I mean recently total war just stopped loading on my machine. Did this. Did that. Downloaded drivers. Fannyed about for ages. Nothing worked. Couple of months later and it started working again no idea why. Now I enjoy learning about things that I'm interested in. Not tedious leg work just to get something running that's supposed to be a bit of fun!
