Games to be played behind closed doors per the Times...

Basically these and other scenarios were discussed at the behind closed doors football meeting on Monday - they make such bleak reading. The other development would be if players contracted the virus then whatever the cost it might mean the season ends. EFL clubs will be hoping the government is generous in reimbursing for lost income. How else will some survive?

The ST isn't a per game payment. It's for a full season of watching games live. Could be a case for a claim against the credit card provider as the purchase has not been fulfilled as advertised.

Who will in turn seek reimbursement from the Club under their indemnity - same thing.

I for one would without doubt be seeking a refund.
I was sold a product and wouldn't be getting what I paid for.
I wouldn't be happy if I ordered fish and chips but got just the chips, for the same price. Or paying for a movie that finished 30 minutes before the end.

Because of course the two are completely similar scenarios, and this isn't a once in a lifetime event.

Just out of interest, would you still seek out a refund even if you knew that it would put the club in financial jeopardy (not saying it will BTW) and is it that you're that desperate for the money, or you'd just look for a refund as a matter of principle ?

Not having a go, just genuinely interested why you're so black and white about it. Personally they have have my 100 quid or whatever it is left on my season ticket but accept everyone won't feel the same.

I would lose a home season ticket and an away season ticket - quite considerable amount in total but I would never ever consider taking legal action over something that was completely beyond Boro, the EFL and football's control.

If the season is suspended then resumed later, how will the ending of players contracts be handled? I am sure I heard that players contracts all end on the same date (30th June rings a bell) so if the season is extended beyond that how would that affect the players, particularly those who might have already signed a pre-contract agreement with another club?

I suspect no one knows - it's such a bizarre situation that there will be a lot of negotiation and discussions about everything.

Don't quite know now you put it like that. I've paid for something that I wouldn't be getting so I would expect a refund for that. I don't need the money but don't like giving money away for nothing.

Given how much our own pension pots are suffering because of the stock market crash I don’t think I really care how the players contract negotiations pan out frankly.

It's quite depressing isn't it Cardiff. Stock markets and pension funds will take years to recover, if ever, after this.
