Just wondering if anyone can advise me if I can just turn up tonight or do I need to go on a specific meeting when it's my first time? Need to drag myself there so any advice would be greatly appreciated

No advice I'm afraid, just a good luck and well done, it's an awful addiction and much more needs to be done to get rid of the normalisation of gambling.

The others affected by this, best wishes. I watched a good mate of mine be ruined through gambling addiction. It's awful and I just hope you guys can get the help you need and deserve.

I hope this doesn't come across as a crass or lightweight addition to the discussion but for anyone who doesn't understand the dangers of gambling and how it can wreck people's lives, I'd highly recommend watching the Steve Coogan mini series Sunshine. Written by the guys who wrote Early Doors, it's a very funny but very sad illustration of the devastating effects of gambling addiction and has a brilliant cast. I'm told you can see it on Amazon Prime, for those with access to such modernistic devices!
