Funny town/city names

Not a town, but I'm still childishly amused by the Wankdorf stadium, home of BSC Young Boys. Sounds like something Jacob Rees-Mogg was caught doing by his nanny.

Fray Bentos always makes me smile.

I know the brand was named after the town, but Fray Bentos as a pie was so deeply ingrained in my head before this, I can't help but think the town is named after the pie. Much like Melton Mowbray.

Stevenage CTC do an Audax entitled the Ugley Nasty ride, 155km from Stevenage and back again taking in both villages which they run on the Sunday the clocks go forward as a "Start of Summertime" ride.
Indeed I took the photos on a sportive starting in Ware a few years ago. We went through a delightful place called Cold Christmas too.

Wait until you see what real corned beef looks like, the stuff we eat is horrific really - I read it came about as part of rationing and somehow stuck

Web have corned beef just like this when we visit my brother in the US. We call that brisket in the UK, and it's lovely. With English mustard, it makes the best beef buns in the world.

UTB
The meat is brisket (they have it there in the US but you can get brisket here too - I cook it on my smoker) but it's the method that makes it corned beef - salt / brine curing it to turn it pink

The canned stuff is just mashed up stuff probably from all the worst cuts imaginable

It's just salt beef, served in the east end of London by the Jewish immigants in bagels for many years.

I actually really like a corned beef (the British stuff) with cress between a couple of slices of heap white bread. Takes me back to school trip packed lunches.

Yep. Also called bully beef. I bought a big piece of it to make bully beef and dumplings. Chucked it out as corned beef is disgusting.
I also bought a salt beef bagel, not knowing that this was just a la-de-dah name for corned beef. Again chucked it out.

If anyone knows of any other names this disgusting meat disguises itself as please let me know.
