Full strength Vs Coventry

2 weeks without a competitive game between now and the SF 1st leg.

That's a long break for any player to be rested and not lose some of their match sharpness.

I would expect us to go full strength, without risking anyone playing through injury.

Start with our strongest team and then it's all about being sensible with regards to our in-game management. If we're 2 up then you can take the likes of Akpom and Archer off early doors.

I expect us to be not 100% at the races next week, not only the players but the fans as well. Its obviously not going to mean as much to us and I think we'll probably lose to Coventry who'll play like their life depends on it.

Then we need to find some momentum in the playoffs against a team who will absolutely flying, its going to be difficult.

I'm not even blaming Carrick or the players, the problem at the moment is we are a victim of our circumstances. We've got nothing to play for and a number of injuries. I don't even know whats the best way to approach things, we'll only find that out in a few weeks time when its all done and dusted.

The problem is the fitness of key players - and none of us know that position.

Ramsey, Howson, Fry, Forss would all be key players if fit.
Keeping Akpom, Archer, Hackney, Lenihan, Giles fit is also hugely important.

We need as much rhythm as ensuring fitness allows us.

It's a tough balancing act, but I think we also need to perform to make sure our sold out stadium has some belief and is also up for the play-offs.

Results don't tell the full story, but we need to show we're the team to fear in the play-offs.

Poor today by all accounts
Held our own against Luton with a much changed team
Blew Hull away in a great second half
Fantastic against Norwich throughout
Battled back vs Bristol City and could have won it

Don't want to lose those positives with season ending on a losing streak, in my opinion.

We're 10% off the pace at the moment and we can't beat Rotherham, if we're 10% of it in the playoff first leg we'll be out of the tie. I know we don't want to risk injuries but its going to be hard to just switch things on in 13 days time.
Not excusing the performance but Rotherham were fighting for their lives in the division and we had already guaranteed a playoff position which when you look where we were before Carrick came in is still a remarkable feat. If Burnley hadn't had won the league at the ease they did then I'm fairly sure Carrick would have beaten Kompany to manager of the year.

I'd go full strength against Coventry and attempt to batter them like we did against Norwich. That will definitely give us momentum.

Sorry, but if we play the team we played today, or at least played the way we did today, then Coventry, who have everything to play for, will tear us apart. People are living in cloud cuckoo land if they think it wouldn’t matter going into the play offs.

Millwall could beat Blackburn and finish 5th, meaning we'll play them in the semis.

Sunderland would then finish 6th if they beat Preston, so they'd play Luton.
Millwall were my preferred semi-final choice of all the teams in play off contention. Think they’ll struggle with our passing and movement
