Fry or McNair?

I think they both offer something different. Fry is better for 1-on-1 defending, winning headers from long balls, etc... McNair is a "better all round player".

Fry was the better choice for Sheffield as they had McBurnie up front.

I think if Lyndon Dykes was playing for QPR, Fry might be the better choice there too.... but if he's not, McNair will start.

If he’s not then Chris Martin will be. So still Fry for me.

I hope these are not famous last words, but Martin and Lowe were non existent against Sunderland... I think McNair and Lenihan handle the threat without the need to single a player out for Fry to mark.

Fry is better for 1 on 1s, but McNair is better positionally when that kind of defending isn't needed... All just my opinion ofc.

I think we will handle the threat either way but i would just edge towards Fry for me and think Carrick will to if I’m honest

Fry for me! Fry is a speciaist defender....he plays his game very well. Mcnair is more adaptable and can play other roles. Definitely a very handy player to have.

Hope its mcnair don't know what the love in is with fry. never picks a man up on a set piece just watch there goal on Wed standing gorping as usual plus simply not a good enough footballer to play out from back
Lenihan was marking McBurnie. Saying he never picks up his man is just ridiculous

The issue isn't what you see - the issue is you haven't a clue what a good footballer looks like
The issue is most of you have rose tinted glasses because he a local boy if we do get to the prem he be gone anyway simply not good enough thats why no prem clubs ever did come in for him perhaps they haven't a clue what a good footballer looks like either

I find it interesting that playing both Fry and McNair at the expense of Lenihan isn't even in the conversation. I'm not suggesting this should be the case, Lenihan has been excellent and is very much a voice at the back. But it just seems accepted that he's defacto number 1, when I personally see all 3 of them playing so well that I'd find it hard to put a cigarette paper between any of them!

Fry for me - local lad who you really want to see do well and whilst McNair has done nothing wrong when called upon, Fry is the future. Got to say since he come back from injury, Lenihan has been the stand out defender and for me is ‘the best at the club’. Outstanding player and a great signing

I was a little surprised to see McNair back in today, but not so much when i saw how high QPR pressed the ball, so it made sense in that respect.

As a slight aside, Lenihan was absolutely immense today, in every respect.
